Volunteer
Sell books in the bookstore to raise money for the library. Shifts are typically 2 to 3 hours in length, and the bookstore is open every day of the week. If you don't want to commit to a fixed schedule, you can work as a substitute. Great position for those who like to meet new people and read books.

Sorting
Room Volunteer
Sort incoming donations of books according to type (fiction vs. nonfiction, bookstore vs. Saturday sale). Training is provided. Books are sorted on Tuesdays from 9 AM to Noon and Fridays 9 AM to Noon (depending on donation level).

Find treasures in the rough: use the internet to check donated materials for value on the internet. Schedule is somewhat flexible, 1-3 hours/week.

Shipping
Volunteers
For those who like to make sure books find new homes. Typically we ship 10 to 35 books per day, which need to be taken out of inventory, packed, weighed, and stamped. Computer skills are not necessary but are helpful. The shipping schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday late mornings for 1 to 3 hours.

Sale Volunteer
The third Saturday of each month we hold a giant book sale (approximately 500 boxes) to sell books to the community. Help set up for this book sale on the Friday from 9 AM to 2 PM, or assist at the book sale on the Saturday from 9 AM to 3:30 PM (or a portion of that). Tasks include sorting, reorganizing, consolidating between boxes, and moving boxes.
