California Propeses Cutting Library Literacy Services Funding

The State of California proposes to abolish all California Library Literacy and English Acquisition Service Program funds. Read Santa Clara provides adult literacy tutoring to 100 English-speaking adults per year. Story Times & Art Activities at Local Homeless Shelters

Librarians from both our Youth Services and Literacy departments regularly present library programs at three Santa Clara family transitional housing shelters: HomeSafe, the Bill Wilson Center, and the Sobrato Family Living Center.
